Liberating the interiors from the constrict of the existing walls, the open plan enables loose interpretations of the space, unbound to any specific purposes. The recently renovated house is reintroduced to the neighbourhood while still holding its initial identity as a single-story house. While the absence of a front-facing window further confirms the nature of an introverted house, the wide eave of the gable roof conveys a humble gesture to its surroundings. Horizontal slits above the operable sliding doors allow the exchange of air, in and out of the house.
The four gardens accompany different rooms, making sure each and every room is spatially connected to the ground. The staircase leading to the attic is disguised as a hardscape element, serving both sculptural and functional.
